For Kim Loxley Belleavoine, painting on glass is her obsession and sharing this with others has made it even better. I’ve been working with glass as my canvas for the past 17 years. It’s constantly evolving which keeps me motivated and excited to get into the studio every morning. I love taking ordinary subject matter and transforming it my own way with patterns, color, shape, and line. The biggest thrill is taking a finished piece outside to get the full effect with the natural light shining through. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting.
