- COMPOSITION | Rose Pink clay is a Bentonite clay, and it can attribute its gorgeous pink to red hue due to its rich composition of minerals such as silica, iron and zinc. Also known as Calamine clay, which is a historic name for an ore of zinc. The name calamine was derived from the Latin “lapis calaminaris”, a misrepresentation of the Greek “cadmia” (καδμία), which was the old name for zinc ores in general.
- TEXTURE & FORM | Our Rose Pink clay is the perfect balance of earthy, velvety and somewhat dusty. However, it’s also very smooth and almost creamy to the touch. It feels and looks almost malleable on the surface, and is quite soft in geological terms. It can be broken by hand with little effort. The earthy and gentle feel of the clay is very pleasant and has a primal quality. It has a mild and natural odour of nature and pristine purity.
